Today we are going to write about the ping pong champion of the school.
He is very good playing ping pong although he started 1 year ago. His name is Miguel Oubiña in Y7A .
The tournament “was incredible and lots of secondary students participated." He says.
It consisted of six phases: Three elimination rounds, a quarter final, a semi-final and a final. He also defeated the girls champion, Klara Y8A and the last school champion, Andrés Y10.
We interviewed him:
1.Were you confident playing?
Truly, no. All of my opponents were very good they all knew what they were doing there. Adrian was an excellent opponent and I had to play really well to beat him.
2.How did you get so good at this sport?
Well my mum taught me a lot of things and how to play, but I live in a flat so I don´t have a place for a ping pong table. So I had to play in my grandparents house with a 31 year old table. That was only a small part of my training. The real training occurred at school with my friends. Nearly every day, I went down to the playground and played.
3.Do you think that the level is high in the school?
Yes, of course, all the people that play put a lot of effort playing every day to become better.
4.What´s your ambition in this sport?
I´d like to participate in more tournaments out of school. When school finishes, then I´d decide if I want to became a professional player.
5.Do you think you´re going to get to the Olympics & beat the Chinese?
Pfffff, that´s a difficult question. Well, if the people choose me and I´m really good, I will do it for Spain.
